The short version
- TrucklineMP is a fan-made multiplayer platform for Euro Truck Simulator 2, run by Hayley Weighill in Great Britain. It is not made by, or connected to, SCS Software or Valve.
- You must be 13 or older. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
- You can have one account. Keep it secure.
- Be decent. Don't cheat, harass people, share illegal content, or try to break the service.
- You own what you post. You let us host and show it so the service works.
- We moderate with staff, reports and some automated tools. When we act against you, we tell you why, and you can appeal.
- You can report anything illegal or harmful. We remove intimate images shared without consent within 48 hours of a valid report.
- The service is provided as it is, but nothing in these terms takes away your legal rights as a consumer.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You keep the consumer protections of the country where you live.
This summary is here to help. The full terms below are what count.
1. About these terms
1.1 These Terms of Service ("terms") are an agreement between you and us. They apply whenever you use TrucklineMP, including:
- our websites and sign-in service;
- the launcher, multiplayer client and official game servers;
- the live map, API and developer tools;
- our Discord servers and bots;
- the recruitment portal;
- anything else that links to these terms.
Together, these are "the Services".
1.2 These documents also form part of the agreement:
- the Platform Rules;
- the Code of Conduct.
If they conflict with these terms, these terms win.
1.3 Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how we handle personal data. They are information, not contract terms.
1.4 Some features have extra terms that we show you when you use them, such as a beta non-disclosure agreement (NDA) or staff agreements. For that feature, the extra terms win if they conflict with these terms.
1.5 By creating an account or using the Services, you accept these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.
2. Who we are
TrucklineMP is operated by Hayley Weighill, an individual based in Great Britain ("we", "us", "our"). Volunteer staff help run it.
- Support: https://trucklinemp.com/support
- Privacy and legal notices: [email protected]
- Security: [email protected]
- Postal address: available on request from [email protected]
TrucklineMP is an independent, unofficial project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by SCS Software, Valve Corporation, Discord Inc., or any other company named in these terms. Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator are trademarks of SCS Software. Steam is a trademark of Valve Corporation.
3. Who can use TrucklineMP
3.1 Age. You must be at least 13. If your country sets a higher age for using a service like this without a parent's consent, you must be that age, or have that consent.
3.2 Under 18. You need your parent's or guardian's permission. They should read these terms with you. There is guidance for them at Notice to Parents.
3.3 Steam and the game. You need:
- a Steam account;
- a legitimate copy of Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Steam, to play multiplayer.
Steam's and SCS Software's own terms continue to apply to them.
3.4 Sign-up requirements. We may set sign-up requirements to keep out throwaway and abusive accounts, and we show them on the sign-up page. They may include:
- a public Steam profile;
- owning the game;
- a minimum amount of playtime;
- a minimum Steam account age.
At times we may limit sign-ups to invited users.
3.5 Who can't use the Services. You can't use them if we have banned you (unless we lift the ban), or if the law says you can't.
3.6 Under 13. We delete accounts that we learn belong to children under 13.
4. Your account
4.1 Signing in. You create your account through our sign-in service at id.trucklinemp.com, using Steam. You can then connect other services, such as Discord. Their own terms apply to them.
4.2 One account per person. You may have one active account. Don't:
- create extra accounts, including to get around a ban, restriction or limit, or to manipulate votes, recruitment, events or statistics;
- share, sell, lend or transfer your account;
- use someone else's account.
We look for ban evasion automatically (see section 8.3 and the Privacy Policy).
4.3 Honest information. Don't impersonate anyone, and keep your details accurate.
4.4 Security.
- Keep your Steam account, passkeys, authenticator app and backup codes safe.
- We may ask you to confirm it's you before sensitive actions.
- Staff with access to admin tools must use two-factor authentication.
- We will never ask for your password or your codes.
- If you think someone has got into your account, contact [email protected].
4.5 Recovery. If you lose your two-factor methods, you can ask for recovery.
- Staff review every request.
- There is a waiting period before recovery can finish.
- We may refuse a request if we can't be confident the account is yours.
4.6 You are responsible for your account. You are responsible for what happens on it, unless it happens because we failed to keep it secure.
4.7 Updated terms. When we update a legal document, we will ask you to review and accept it before you continue (see section 18).
5. Rules for using the Services
You must follow the Platform Rules and the Code of Conduct. You must not:
Breaking the law or hurting people
- break the law, or help someone else break it;
- harass, threaten, bully or abuse anyone;
- post anything section 8.1 does not allow;
- share other people's personal information without permission (doxxing);
- impersonate anyone.
Cheating and exploiting the game
- cheat, including using trainers, modified clients, or tools that give you an unfair advantage or disrupt other players;
- exploit bugs;
- interfere with the launcher, the client, integrity checks or game servers.
Attacking or misusing the service
- get into accounts, systems or data you aren't allowed to access;
- probe, scan or test our security. The only exception is good-faith security research that you report straight away to [email protected], without accessing other people's data or disrupting the service. We won't take action against that.
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the Services, except where the law lets you;
- use bots, scrapers, headless browsers or other automation. This includes collecting content to train AI models. The official API (section 13) is the only supported way to automate.
- get around rate limits, human checks, the queue, maintenance restrictions or bans.
Non-public files
- ask for, pay for, or try to get non-public files from staff, testers or anyone else, whether or not you succeed. That includes client or launcher builds, libraries, source code and signing keys.
- share any such file with anyone we haven't authorised, even privately.
Spam and manipulation
- spam;
- advertise outside the places we allow;
- manipulate votes, statistics, leaderboards, queues or ad counts.
If you break these rules, we may act under section 8.8.
6. Your content
6.1 What counts as your content. Anything you create or upload. For example:
- your profile, pictures, bio and links;
- company pages, news, events and ads;
- support tickets and reports;
- applications, poll answers and chat messages;
- configurations.
6.2 You own it. We don't claim ownership of your content.
6.3 The permission you give us. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, adapt (for example, resize images), display, distribute and publish your content, only to run, secure, improve and promote the Services, as your settings allow. This includes making public content available through our public API and embeds. We may pass this permission to providers who run the Services for us, and to anyone who takes over running TrucklineMP (section 22.4).
6.4 When the permission ends. It ends when you or we delete the content, except for:
- copies others have legitimately made, for example quoting you in a ticket or a company announcement;
- content we must keep for legal, safety or moderation reasons;
- backup copies, until they are deleted.
6.5 Other users. Others can see, share and link to your public content, as the Services allow.
6.6 Your promises about your content. You promise that:
- you have the right to post it;
- it follows these terms and the law;
- it doesn't include anyone else's personal data or pictures without their permission;
- it doesn't include passwords or other secrets.
6.7 Private content. Some content is private, such as tickets, company notes and whispers in chat. Staff can still see it for safety and moderation (see the Privacy Policy).
6.8 Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely. We don't owe you anything for them.
7. Multiplayer, the launcher and game servers
7.1 Licence to use our software. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download, install and use the launcher and multiplayer client for your own, non-commercial use under these terms. Open-source parts are covered by their own licences.
7.2 Updates. The launcher installs updates that are needed for security and to keep multiplayer working. Updating may be required before you can play.
7.3 Official servers. We run the official game servers. Individual servers may have extra rules, and staff in game may give instructions. Follow both.
7.4 What others see while you play:
- your name and exact in-game position on the public live map;
- your playtime, which may appear on public leaderboards.
Chat is logged for moderation and kept for 90 days. The Privacy Policy explains this.
7.5 In-game moderation. Staff can kick, mute or ban players in game.
- Bans issued in game are public and appear on your driver licence.
- Staff with in-game moderation permissions can act from their own game client.
7.6 Your game files. TrucklineMP runs alongside the base game. Keep backups of your game profiles. We are not responsible for problems with the base game or your device, except as the law requires (section 21).
8. Safety, moderation and reporting
This section explains:
- how we keep TrucklineMP safe;
- what happens when something breaks the rules;
- how you can report content and challenge our decisions.
It applies to everyone, including staff and company owners, and we apply it consistently.
8.1 What is not allowed
Illegal content is never allowed. That includes:
- terrorism content, such as content that encourages, supports or glorifies terrorism or a banned organisation;
- child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA). This includes any sexual content involving anyone under 18, grooming, and trying to get a child to share images or to meet;
- intimate images shared without consent, including threats to share them and fake or AI-generated intimate images;
- threats, harassment, stalking and hate crimes;
- fraud and scams, including phishing and account theft;
- selling or supplying drugs, weapons or other illegal items or services;
- encouraging or helping someone to take their own life or seriously harm themselves;
- content that infringes someone else's intellectual property or other rights.
Content that isn't allowed for anyone. Because some of our users are under 18, we also don't allow the following for anyone, of any age:
- pornography, nudity or other sexually explicit content;
- content that encourages, promotes or gives instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders;
- bullying and abuse, and content that attacks people because of who they are;
- realistic violent or gory content;
- content that encourages dangerous stunts or challenges, or the misuse of harmful substances.
The Platform Rules and Code of Conduct cover other behaviour, such as cheating, spam and impersonation.
8.2 How we protect you from illegal content
Preventing it and limiting how long it stays up. We combine:
- clear rules that everyone agrees to;
- automated tools (section 8.3);
- ways to report problems (section 8.4);
- staff who review reports and moderation queues, most serious first;
- action against accounts that post illegal content, including permanent bans and blocking them from coming back.
We treat three kinds of illegal content with the highest priority:
- Terrorism content. We remove it as soon as we find it, permanently ban the account, and report it to the police where appropriate.
- CSEA content. We have zero tolerance. We remove it immediately, permanently ban the account, keep the evidence the law requires, and report it to the UK National Crime Agency or other authorities as the law requires.
- Other priority illegal content, such as threats, hate crimes, fraud, selling illegal items, intimate image abuse and encouraging self-harm. We remove it as soon as we become aware of it, and take action against the account based on how serious it is.
Taking it down when we are told. When someone reports content, or we find it ourselves, staff review it as quickly as they can, most serious harms first. If it is illegal or breaks our rules, we remove it or restrict access to it.
Intimate images. When we receive a valid intimate image report (section 8.5), we remove the content, and any copies we identify, as soon as reasonably practicable and no later than 48 hours after we receive the report.
8.3 Automated tools we use
We use these automated tools to help keep the Services safe:
- Content filter.
- What it is: a rule-based text filter we host ourselves. It matches text against lists of words and patterns, such as slurs, hate speech, spam and scam links.
- When it's used: on event text when events are created or edited, and on messages in our official Discord servers.
- How it works: matching content can be blocked or held for staff to look at.
- Discord automatic moderation. Our Discord bot can time out, kick or ban accounts in our Discord servers automatically when warnings add up, or when it detects a raid or spam. After 5 active warnings, it bans the account automatically. The message it sends says the ban was automatic, explains why, and links to how to appeal.
- Ban-evasion detection.
- What it is: a system that compares accounts using signals such as linked Discord ID, email address, IP address, browser, a device cookie, and patterns in sign-ups.
- When it's used: at sign-up, when you link Discord, and regularly after that.
- How it works: most matches only flag an account for staff to review. An account is restricted automatically only when its Discord ID or email address matches an account with an active ban. You get a notification when this happens, without being told which account matched, and you can appeal.
- Security tools. Automated rate limits, human checks and temporary IP blocks stop spam, scraping and attacks.
Automated tools can make mistakes. Tell us if you think one got it wrong (section 8.7).
8.4 How to report
Anyone can report content they think is illegal or breaks our rules. You don't need an account.
- Signed in: use the report options on profiles and content, or open a ticket at https://trucklinemp.com/support.
- Without an account, or for formal legal notices: email [email protected].
What to include. To help us act quickly, tell us:
- where the content is (a link, if possible);
- why you think it is illegal or breaks our rules;
- your name and email address (you can leave these out if you are reporting child sexual abuse material);
- that you believe the report is accurate and made in good faith.
What happens next.
- If you give us contact details, we confirm we received your report.
- We tell you what we decided, and whether any part of the decision was automated.
- We explain your options if you disagree.
- We may stop handling reports from people who repeatedly send reports that are clearly unfounded.
Emergencies.
- If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services first.
- To report child sexual abuse in the UK, you can also use CEOP at https://www.ceop.police.uk.
8.5 Intimate images shared without consent
If an intimate image or video of you has been shared on TrucklineMP without your consent, report it. This includes images that are fake or made with AI.
How to report. Email [email protected], or open a ticket at https://trucklinemp.com/support and choose the report option. You, or someone acting for you, should include:
- a statement that the content is an intimate image of you, shared without your consent;
- a statement that you are the person shown, or are acting for them;
- where the content is (a link, if possible);
- your contact details;
- a statement that the report is made in good faith and is true to the best of your knowledge;
- your signature (typing your full name is enough).
What we do. We remove the content, and any copies we identify, within 48 hours of receiving a valid report. If we decide not to remove something, we tell you why. You can then complain, and we will handle that complaint as a priority.

8.6 What happens when we act
What we can do. We may:
- remove content, hide it, or hold it for review;
- give warnings;
- mute, kick, suspend or ban an account. Bans can cover the website, the game, events, companies, Discord, or beta programmes;
- restrict features, such as ads or API access;
- revoke API keys and apps;
- dissolve companies;
- block identifiers so banned people can't come back (see "Blocked identifiers and moderation notices" below).
Proportionality. We usually act step by step. For serious harms, we act immediately.
Telling you why. When we act against your content or account, we tell you, unless the law or someone's safety stops us. We explain:
- what we did and for how long;
- why we did it, and which rule or law applies;
- whether automated tools were involved;
- how to appeal.
The reason we give you is separate from staff's internal notes, which you don't see.
Blocked identifiers and moderation notices. When staff delete an account or issue a permanent ban, we record a moderation notice. We block the Steam, Discord and other connected account IDs involved when staff issue a permanent ban, or when staff delete an account and choose to block its IDs. Bans that the game server issues automatically don't block IDs. Staff can also add an ID by hand, including for someone who never had an account.
- The notice says what we did and until when, why, which rule it relates to, the date of the decision, and whether it was automated. It isn't tied to your account, so it is still there if the account is deleted.
- The next time you sign in with Steam, we show you the notice. If you are not blocked, you confirm that you understand and can create a new account. If you are blocked, you see the notice every time you try to sign in while the block lasts.
- A block has an end date: 5 years for a permanent ban, 3 years if staff deleted the account without a ban, and up to 5 years for one added by hand. Before it ends, staff review it and can renew it. There is no fixed limit on how many times it can be renewed, but every renewal needs a review and a written reason. A block tied to a permanent ban can only be renewed while the ban is active, and it ends as soon as the ban is lifted. A block that nobody renews ends by itself.
- Staff can also bar someone from staff roles. That lasts for a set term, between 1 and 5 years depending on how serious it was, and staff can renew it at review. We tell you when we add you, if we can match you to an account.
The Privacy Policy explains how we store this information and for how long.
Public bans. Some bans are public (see the Privacy Policy). Only active public bans are listed. They show on ban pages, on your profile while active, and on your driver licence. In-game bans are public by default, event bans are not, and staff decide whether other bans are public. A public ban shows your name, handle, avatar, the reason, the rule it relates to and whether it was automated. It never shows your SteamID64 or the evidence. Evidence is shown only to you, for items staff mark as visible to you, and to staff who review bans.
8.7 Complaints and appeals
What you can complain about. You can complain if:
- we removed or restricted your content or account, or gave you a warning, mute, suspension or ban, including where an automated tool was involved;
- you reported content and think we got it wrong or didn't act;
- you think an automated tool acted on your content in a way these terms don't describe;
- you think we aren't meeting our safety duties, or aren't respecting freedom of expression or privacy.
How to complain.
- To appeal a moderation decision, use https://trucklinemp.com/appeals, or open a ticket at https://trucklinemp.com/support.
- If a ban or block stops you signing in, email [email protected] and quote the number on your moderation notice.
- For anything else, open a ticket, or email [email protected].
- Anyone affected can complain, including people without an account.
Timing. Appeal within the time shown with the decision. Some bans can only be appealed after a cooling-off period, which depends on the type and severity. If you missed the deadline for a good reason, tell us and we will still consider it.
How we handle complaints.
- We confirm that we received your complaint.
- Where possible, a different staff member from the one who made the decision reviews it.
- Complaints are never decided by automated tools alone.
- We tell you the outcome and our reasons. If we got it wrong, we reverse the decision.
Other options.
- If you are in the EU, you may be able to use a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body. We will engage with it in good faith.
- You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or to the data protection authority in your country (for example, UODO in Poland).
- You can always go to court.
- In the UK, you can tell Ofcom about your experience with an online service. Ofcom does not resolve individual complaints.
8.8 Freedom of expression and privacy
When we design and apply safety measures, we take particular care to protect your freedom of expression and your privacy.
8.9 Working with authorities
We report child sexual exploitation and abuse content to the UK National Crime Agency, as UK law requires. We may also share information:
- with police or other authorities when the law requires it;
- when we believe someone's life or safety is at risk.
9. Companies (VTCs and VBCs) and events
9.1 Responsibility. Company owners and managers are responsible for:
- their company's name, branding, pages, news, events, ads and Discord announcements;
- how their company uses the management tools.
9.2 Member information. Managers can see member information, including activity, applications and notes, and can keep blacklists. They must:
- use it only to run their company;
- keep it confidential;
- follow data protection law where it applies to them.
They must not:
- use rosters, notes or blacklists to harass anyone;
- copy member data out of TrucklineMP for other purposes.
9.3 API keys and integrations. Managers are responsible for API keys, webhooks and integrations they set up. Give access only to people and apps you trust, and only what they need.
9.4 Statuses. Verified, official, partnered and featured statuses are at our discretion. We may change or remove them.
9.5 Events. Events must be honest and follow the rules. We may edit, unpublish or merge events that break these terms or mislead people.
9.6 Company ads. Company ads:
- are reviewed before they go live;
- must not be misleading, offensive or impersonating;
- must not promote anything that breaks our rules;
- may not contain political advertising.
Ads are labelled. We don't guarantee placement, views or results, and we may suspend or remove ads.
9.7 Removing a company. We may dissolve companies used for ban evasion, harassment or repeated rule-breaking.
9.8 Deleting your account deletes your companies. If you own a company and delete your account, the company is deleted too. Transfer ownership first if you want it to continue.
10. Staff roles and recruitment
10.1 Volunteer roles. Staff and other elevated roles are voluntary and at our discretion. They are not employment. We may give, change or remove them.
10.2 Applications. Your applications must be truthful. If you misrepresent yourself, we may reject your application, withdraw an offer, or remove your role.
10.3 Extra requirements. Some roles need:
- extra agreements, such as an NDA;
- two-factor authentication;
- a minimum age, or a parent's consent for under-18s.
10.4 Access and confidentiality. Staff may only access personal data they need for their role. They must keep it confidential, during and after their time on the team.
11. Supporter memberships
11.1 How you can support us. You can support TrucklineMP through Patreon, at patreon.com/c/TrucklineMP. We don't sell memberships or take payments ourselves. Staff can also grant supporter benefits (see 11.8).
11.2 Patreon handles payment. Your Patreon membership is an agreement between you and Patreon, under Patreon's terms. Patreon takes your payments, renews your membership, and handles cancellations, refunds and receipts.
- To cancel, or to ask about a charge or a refund, contact Patreon.
- We don't issue refunds ourselves, and we can't cancel or refund a Patreon payment for you.
- Your statutory rights are not affected.
11.3 Linking your account. To get your benefits, connect your Patreon account in your TrucklineMP account settings. Benefits go only to the TrucklineMP account your Patreon account is linked to. Free Patreon memberships don't include benefits.
11.4 Tiers and benefits. Each paid tier comes with the benefits described on our Patreon page and our Support us page. These can include roles on our website, on our Discord servers and in game, access to Discord channels, and cosmetic profile features. Benefits are cosmetic or convenience features. They don't give you any advantage in gameplay, moderation or staff decisions.
11.5 Changes to benefits. We may change, add or remove benefits, for example as the Services change. If we remove something significant from your tier, we will tell you in advance where we can, and you can cancel through Patreon.
11.6 When your membership ends. If your membership lapses, for example because a payment fails or you cancel, you keep your benefits for 3 days, then they stop. If you unlink Patreon, your benefits stop straight away.
11.7 If we ban your account. Your benefits stop. A ban does not cancel your Patreon membership, so cancel it through Patreon if you no longer want to pay. Any refund is a matter for Patreon under its terms.
11.8 Staff-granted benefits. These are a goodwill gesture, not a purchase. They may be time-limited or removed.
11.9 Being shown as a supporter. Supporters may be shown on our Supporters page with their tier, and with a badge on their profile. You can hide your Patreon membership in Settings, which also takes you off the Supporters page.
11.10 Earlier paid memberships. We used to sell paid memberships through Link, Stripe's consumer payment service. We no longer sell them, and they no longer give benefits. Stripe keeps the payment records under its own policy.
12. Beta programmes and NDAs
12.1 Beta features. Beta features may change, break or disappear without notice. They come with no service commitments.
12.2 Selection. Beta participants may be chosen automatically, as described in the Privacy Policy. Access can be removed if you stop meeting the criteria.
12.3 NDAs. Some beta access requires an NDA. If you break it, we may remove your access and take other action.
13. Developer terms (API, OAuth apps and webhooks)
13.1 Scope. These terms apply when you use:
- API keys, the public API or the Developer Console;
- OAuth apps;
- webhooks;
- our embeds.
13.2 API keys.
- API keys begin with
tlmp_api_. Keep them secret. If a key leaks, revoke it straight away. - Keys only have the scopes you give them.
- Company managers can give a key management permissions for their own company. Such a key can't reach outside that company.
- We publish rate limits in the Developer Console and may change them.
- Use a key for production integrations. Anonymous access is only for testing.
13.3 OAuth apps.
- Be honest. Say clearly who you are on the approval screen.
- Ask for the minimum. Request only the scopes you need.
- Protect secrets. Keep client secrets out of client-side code; public and mobile clients must use PKCE. Protect tokens like passwords.
- Publish a privacy policy that explains what you do with our users' data.
- Delete when asked. Delete a user's data when they revoke access or ask you to, unless the law requires you to keep it.
13.4 Data you get from us. You are responsible for personal data you receive through the API or webhooks. You act as an independent controller and must follow data protection law. You must not:
- sell the data, or use it for advertising or profiling;
- use it to train AI models without users' permission;
- combine it to track people across services;
- use it to build a copy of our user, company or event directories without our written permission.
13.5 Webhooks.
- Check the signature on every delivery.
- Secure the endpoint that receives them.
- Don't forward event data to anyone who shouldn't have it.
13.6 Don't abuse the API. Don't get around limits or permissions, scrape beyond your scopes, load-test production without asking us, or send spam.
13.7 Our rights. We may suspend or revoke keys, apps and projects to protect users or the Services.
13.8 Business use. If you use the developer platform for a business, you agree to cover our reasonable losses caused by claims from third parties about your app or your breach of this section. This clause does not apply to consumers.
14. Intellectual property
14.1 Our rights. We, or those who license to us, own the Services: the software, design, text, graphics and branding. Apart from the rights these terms give you, you don't get any rights in them.
14.2 Game content. Game content, names and trademarks belong to their owners, such as SCS Software and Valve.
14.3 Videos, streams and screenshots. You may stream, record and share videos and screenshots of yourself playing TrucklineMP, including in monetised videos. Just don't suggest that we endorse you, or use our logos in a misleading way.
15. Copyright complaints
15.1 Sending a notice. If you believe content on TrucklineMP infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- the work you believe has been copied;
- where the infringing material is, in enough detail for us to find it;
- your name, address, phone number and email address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorised to act for them.
15.2 Counter-notices. If we remove your content because of a notice and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include:
- your signature;
- what was removed and where it was;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification;
- your name, address and phone number;
- your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts for your address (in the US, the federal district court; outside the US, any court where we can be found), and to accept service from the person who complained.
15.3 Repeat infringers. We close the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate cases.
15.4 Other legal claims. For other legal complaints, such as trademarks, impersonation or defamation, use section 8.4.
16. Other services
The Services connect with services we don't run, such as:
- Steam, Discord, Patreon, YouTube, Twitch and Google;
- partner tools;
- embedded players and websites we link to.
Their terms and privacy policies apply to them. We are not responsible for them.
17. Changes to the Services
17.1 Why things change. We keep improving TrucklineMP. We may add, change or remove features for valid reasons. For example:
- changes in the law;
- security or abuse problems;
- technical changes;
- cost;
- making the service better.
17.2 Changes that affect you badly. If a change will significantly and negatively affect you, we will give you reasonable notice first (at least 30 days where we can). You can close your account and download your data before the change applies. For paid memberships, section 11 and your statutory rights also apply.
17.3 Availability. We don't guarantee the Services will always be available. We may need maintenance, and we may use a queue at busy times.
17.4 Shutting down. If we shut TrucklineMP down, we will give at least 30 days' notice where possible, so you can download your data.
18. Changes to these terms
18.1 Why we update them. We may update these terms for valid reasons, such as new features, changes in the law, safety, or to make them clearer.
18.2 How we tell you. When we update them, we:
- change the version and effective date;
- summarise the changes at the end;
- ask you to accept the new version before you continue.
If a change is to your disadvantage, we will give you notice in advance where we can, unless it is urgent for legal or safety reasons.
18.3 If you don't agree. You can stop using the Services and delete your account. You can still exercise your privacy rights by emailing [email protected].
19. Ending your account
19.1 Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion happens straight away and can't be undone. The Privacy Policy explains what is deleted and what we keep.
Before you delete:
- transfer any companies you own;
- cancel any Patreon membership you no longer want, because deleting your account doesn't cancel it.
19.2 When we can end your account. We may suspend or close your account, or stop providing any part of the Services to you:
- immediately, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if it is needed to protect users or the Services;
- otherwise, with at least 30 days' notice, for a valid reason.
We will tell you why, unless the law or someone's safety stops us, and you can appeal (section 8.7).
19.3 Inactive accounts. We may close accounts that have been inactive for a long time. We will tell you first where we can.
19.4 What survives. These sections continue after your account ends: section 6 (content licences, as described there), and sections 13.4, 14, 15 and 20 to 22.
20. Disclaimers
TrucklineMP is a free, community-run project. Apart from what the law requires and what these terms promise, we provide the Services "as is" and "as available". We don't promise they will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for any particular purpose.
We are not responsible for what other users say or do, except where the law makes us responsible. Our automated safety tools support our staff, but they can't guarantee that everything harmful is caught.
Some places don't allow some of these disclaimers. Where that is the case, they don't apply to you.
21. Our liability to you
21.1 What we never exclude. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- anything else that can't legally be limited;
- your statutory rights as a consumer.
21.2 UK consumers.
- We are responsible for losses you suffer that were foreseeable, and that were caused by us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
- We are not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable.
- The Services are for private use. We are not liable for business losses.
21.3 EU consumers. We are liable under the law for intentional acts and gross negligence. For slight negligence, we are liable only if we breach an essential obligation (one you normally rely on for the Services to work), and only for damage that was typical and foreseeable. Product liability laws are not affected.
21.4 Maximum amount. Where the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is the greater of:
- £100;
- what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
21.5 Digital content. If something we supply damages your device or other digital content because we didn't use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or compensate you, as the law requires.
22. General
22.1 Resolving disputes.
- Please contact us first at [email protected], and we will try to sort it out. We respond within 30 days.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear disputes.
- If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can bring claims in your local courts, under your local law.
- If you are a consumer in the EU or elsewhere, you keep the mandatory protections of the law where you live, and you can bring claims in your local courts.
22.2 If part of these terms is invalid. If a court decides that part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
22.3 Delays. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
22.4 Transferring these terms. We may transfer these terms to a new operator of TrucklineMP, such as a company or community organisation set up to run it. We will tell you if that happens. Your rights won't be reduced, and if you are unhappy you can close your account. You may not transfer your account or these terms.
22.5 Third parties. Nobody other than you and us can enforce these terms.
22.6 Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
22.7 Language. If we provide these terms in other languages, the English version applies if there is any difference.
22.8 Whole agreement. These terms, together with the documents in section 1.2, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services.

What changed in this version
Version 2.2.0 updates how we tell you about moderation decisions (section 8):
- Moderation notices: when staff delete an account or issue a permanent ban, we give you a notice with the reason, the rule, the date and whether the decision was automated. You see it the next time you sign in with Steam (section 8.6).
- Blocked identifiers: we say how long a block lasts, that staff review it before it ends, and that it ends when a permanent ban is lifted (section 8.6).
- Public bans: only active public bans are listed. Your SteamID64 and the evidence are never public. Event bans are no longer public by default (section 8.6).
- Appeals: if a ban or block stops you signing in, you can appeal by email, quoting the number on your notice. We also say you can complain to a data protection authority (section 8.7).
- Automated tools: we describe the automatic ban after 5 active warnings in our Discord servers, and the notification you get if an account is restricted for matching a banned one (section 8.3).
Version 2.1.0
Version 2.1.0 updates supporter memberships (section 11):
- Patreon only: you now support TrucklineMP through Patreon, which handles payments, cancellations and refunds. We no longer sell paid memberships through Link (Stripe), and those memberships no longer give benefits.
- Linking and tiers: benefits need a linked Patreon account and a paid tier, and can include roles on our website, Discord servers and in game.
- Ending a membership: benefits continue for 3 days after a membership lapses, and stop straight away if you unlink Patreon.
- Bans and account deletion: neither cancels your Patreon membership, so cancel it through Patreon if you no longer want to pay. You no longer need to cancel a paid membership before deleting your account.
Version 2.0.0
This is a full rewrite. We reorganised the terms, simplified the language, and checked them against how TrucklineMP works today. The main changes:
- Safety, moderation and reporting (section 8) is new. It covers:
- what content is never allowed, including for children;
- how we protect users from illegal content;
- the automated tools we use;
- how to report, including without an account;
- a 48-hour removal process for intimate images shared without consent;
- statements of reasons, complaints and appeals;
- how we work with authorities.
- Added sections:
- multiplayer, the launcher and game servers (section 7);
- paid memberships sold through Link, with cancellation and refund rights (section 11);
- company managers' duties for member data (section 9);
- stronger developer data-protection terms (section 13);
- permission to share gameplay videos and screenshots (section 14.3);
- a copyright counter-notice and repeat-infringer process (section 15).
- Your account: updated for Steam sign-up requirements, passkeys, account recovery and two-factor rules.
- Fairer rules on changes: clearer rules on changes to the Services and to these terms, notice before we close accounts, and your rights if TrucklineMP moves to a new operator.
- Liability: updated sections for UK and EU consumers.
- Removed outdated references to the forum, email sign-up and the mobile app.
